147. (1) The court may, after the close of written pleadings in
line with article 146, whenever, under the circumstances, it sh all
deem it expedient so to do, make an order allowing any of the
parties to file an additional written pleading with leave to th e
opposite party to file, if he so desires, another written plead ing in
reply, within such times a s the court shall direct.
(2) The court may also by way of a decree demand the parties to
answer any questions it might have or else demand the parties t o
clarify any issues that are deemed necessary for the court befo re
handing down its judgment.

(3) If no time is fixed by the court, the party allowed to file
such additional written pleading shall do so within ten days fr om
the day of the order, and the op posite party shall file his ans wer
within an equal time to be reck oned from the service of the for mer
written pleading. Such times may be extended only once, on good
ground being shown.
(4) Nothing in the provisions of this article shall preclude th e court
from requesting an oral hearing as provided in article 207(5).
