565. (1) Any of the parties to a suit, whatever his interest therein, shall be competent to give evidence, either at his own request, or at the request of any of the other parties to the suit, or if called by the court ex officio. (2) The provisions of this Code respecting witnesses shall apply to such party. Admissibility of spouses, civil union partners and cohabitants of party to a suit as witness. Added by: XV.1913.111.
