622B. (1) Without prejudice to the provisions of article 622A,
the court may, if it deems it proper so to act, allow for the a udio-
recording or for the video-recording of any evidence required f rom
a witness as aforesaid , in accordance with such codes of practi ce as
the Minister responsible for jus tice may, by regulations, presc ribe.
(2) The Court may also allow for the testimony of any witness
even if present in Malta to be given by video conference or by
teleconference from such place as the court may order and subje ct
to such conditions and directions as the court may deem necessa ry:
Provided that the Minister res ponsible for justice may, by
regulations, provide for any procedures, formalities, modalitie s or
restrictions which are to apply to the taking of evidence in Ma lta in

respect of proceedings in Malta by video conference or by
teleconference and where the Mini ster makes such regulations th e
said regulations shall apply an d any conditions or directions g iven
by the Court under this sub-arti cle shall not conflict with suc h
regulations.
