626. (1) It shall be lawful for the court, in making an order of reference, to empower the referee to examine witnesses and to administer oaths. Production before court of witnesses heard by referee. (2) Any witness examined by the referee may, by leave of court, be again produced before the court, and it shall also be lawful for the court of its own motion to order the production of any such witness.
