646. (1) Where the parties agree on the submission of a name
of a referee, the court shall appoint the referee agreed upon b y the
parties.
(2) Where the parties fail to agree, the court shall appoint a
referee of its own choice.
(3) No social worker or psychologist who has already provided
services to a party to a suit including as an ex parte expert witness
according to the provisions of ar ticle 563A may be appointed as a
referee.
No person may
have more than
two references at
the same time.
