995. Any functionary, referee or other officer of the court, who is insulted in the execution of any warrant, or in the discharg e of his duties, shall report the matter to the judge or magistrate, and the- contemner shall be liable to be by the judge or magistrate sentenced to a fine (ammenda or multa ) or to detention, saving any other punishment, applicable by the competent court, to which t he contemner may be liable if the fact constitutes a more serious offence, according to law.
