Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 134
134. (1) It shall be lawful for the parents, if they are unable to
control the child, to remove him from the family, assigning to him,
according to the means of the par ents, such maintenance as is
strictly necessary.
(2) In any such case, the parents may also, where necessary and
upon obtaining the authority of such court as may be prescribed by
or under any law in force from time to time, place the child, f or
such time as is stated in the decree, in some alternative form of
care, which the court will accord ing to circumstances consider
suitable, to be, at the expense of the parents, cared for and t reated
in such manner as the court may deem conducive to the disciplin e
and education of the child.
(3) The demand for such authority may be made even verbally;
and the court shall make the necessary order thereon without an y
formal proceedings, and without giving its reasons therefor.
