218. (1) Where the persons vested with the provisional possession of the property, or a llowed to exercise their rights provisionally under article 211 , are ascendants, descendants, o r the spouse of the absentee, they sha ll retain all the fruits for th eir own benefit. (2) Where the said persons are relations of the absentee in any other degree, or strangers, they shall be bound to reserve one- third part of the fruits: Provided that after the lapse of ten continuous years from the day the absentee was last heard of or of six years from the entry o f provisional possession, the whole of the fruits shall belong to the said persons.
