Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 277

277. (1) In default of any one of the parents of the child, or if no notice has been given, the said officer shall require any pe rson whom he believes to have knowledge of the particulars required for the drawing up of the act, to atte nd in order to make the decla ration concerning such particulars. (2) The same shall apply where th e said officer is not satisfied as to the correctness of the particulars given to him by any on e of the parents or any other person, or contained in the certificat e mentioned in article 273.
