285. (1) In the case of any birth at sea, on board a vessel registered in Malta, the master shall, within twenty-four hours enter in his log-book the fact of such birth with the particulars req uired under articles 278, 279, 280 and 283. (2) Upon the arrival of such vessel in Malta, the Authority for Transport in Malta shall transmit a copy of such entry to the o fficer charged with the drawing up of the acts of birth in Malta, who shall forthwith draw up the act o f birth of such child. ( 3 ) W h e r e t h e a r r i v a l o f s u c h v e s s e l i n M a l t a d o e s n o t t a k e place within three months after t he birth of the child, the mas ter shall, not later than three months after the said birth, transm it a copy of the relative entry to the Authority for Transport in Ma lta who shall deal with it as if the said vessel had arrived in Mal ta. Children born at sea on board a vessel that is not registered in any place. Added by: XII.2015.5.
