334. (1) Natural or industrial fru its hanging from branches or standing upon roots at the time when the usufruct begins, shall belong to the usufructuary, without prejudice to any portion wh ich may be due to the tenant under a metayer lease. (2) Such fruits as are hanging from branches or standing upon roots at the time when the usufr uct terminates, shall belong to the owner, without prejudice to any portion which may be due to the tenant under a metayer lease, and to any compensation which may be due to the usufructuary or his heirs for their cultivation. Civil fruits deemed to be earned day by day.
