Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 341

341. A lease of the property shall continue to be operative even after the termination of the usu fruct, provided such lease shal l have 124 [CAP. 16. CIVIL CODE been made on fair cond itions and for a period not exceeding eig ht years, in the case of rural prope rty, or four years, in the cas e of urban property, or an ordinary period according to usage, in th e case of movable property, or any period shorter than any of the said periods respectively in the case of property the letting of whi ch for a period exceeding such shor ter period is prohibited. Usufructuary may sell fruits that are pending.
