406. The provisions of the last preceding article shall not apply in the case where one of the owners requires the water fo r the use of man, or for watering anim als or for watering trees which are ordinarily watered; in any such case the right of preference ov er others who require the water for other uses belongs - (a) to the person who requires the water for the use of man; (b) to the person who requires it for watering animals; (c) to the person who require s it for watering trees. § II.
