Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 441
441. (1) Any sink-pipe or any pipe for water dripping from the
roofs, or for water raised by means of a pump or other mechanic al
device, shall be at a distance of at least one metre from the
boundary, to be measured from the nearest point of the external part
of such pipe.

(2) The observance of such distance is not required if the pipes
used are such as do not allow any dampness to penetrate into th e
wall, or if other means are used fit to prevent the passage of any
such dampness.
(3) Nevertheless, if, notwithst anding the observance of the
distance prescribed under sub-ar ticle (1) of this article, or t he use
of such pipes or means as are mentioned in sub-article (2) of t his
article, damage is caused to the neighbour, the owner of the pi pes
shall be bound to make, at his own expense, any other work that
may be necessary for preventing the continuance of the damage,
and, if necessary, even to remove the pipes to a greater distan ce.
