Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 548
548. The possessor, whether in good or bad faith, shall not be
bound to restore, or to bring into account for the purposes of the
set-off mentioned in the last pr eceding article, the fruits of any
meliorations which, under the provisions of the foregoing artic les,
he has the right to remove, or for which he is to be indemnifie d by
the owner, unless the owner agrees to pay to him interest on th e
cost of such meliorations.
