Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 561
561. (1) Occupancy consists in taking possession of a
corporeal thing which is not, but can be, the property of any o ne,
with the intention of becoming the owner of it.
(2) The occupant shall acquire the ownership thereof, unless
the law provides otherwise.
