Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 712
712. (1) A condition prohibiting a first or a subsequent
marriage shall be considered a s if it had not been attached.
(2) Nevertheless, where a leg a c y c o n s i s t i n g i n a r i g h t o f
usufruct, use, or habitation, or in a pension or other periodic al
payment, is contingent on the legatee remaining, and limited to the

period during which he or she remains a bachelor or spinster, o r a
widower or widow, the legatee shall be entitled to enjoy the le gacy
only as long as he or she shall remain a bachelor or spinster, or a
widower or widow.
(3) A condition in restraint o f remarriage, attached to a
testamentary disposition by one of the spouses in favour of the
other, shall be valid.
