Civil Code (Cap. 16), article 854
854. Where the renunciation is made gratuitously by one of the
co-heirs in favour of all those co -heirs, whether testamentary or
heirs-at-law, upon whom, on failure of the party renouncing, hi s
portion of the inheritance would have devolved, it shall not im ply
acceptance of the inheritance.
