228. (1) The Minister may cancel any certificate issued in pursuance of the foregoing provis ions of this Part of this Act where he has reason to believe - 112 CAP. 234.] MERCHANT SHIPPING (a) that a declaration of survey on which the certificate was founded has been in any particular made fraudulently or erroneously; or (b) that the certificate has been issued upon false or erroneous information; or (c) that since the making of the declaration the hull, equipment or machinery of th e ship have sustained an injury or are otherwise insufficient. (2) In every such case the Minister may require the owner to have the hull, equipment or machinery of the ship again surveye d, and to transmit further declarati ons of survey, before he re-is sues the certificate or grants a fresh one in lieu thereof.
