234. Where the Minister, for the pur pose of enabling persons to be moved from any place in conse quence to a threat to their liv es has permitted more persons to be carried on board a ship than a re permitted under this Act, the car riage of that excess shall not be an offence under this Act. Modification of safety certificates as respects life- saving appliances. Amended by:  XIII. 1983.5; XXII. 2000.2; I.2025.77.
