Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 234), article 347
347. Subject to the provisions of this Part of this Act, and to
any other exclusion or limitation provided by law in relation to the
carriage of goods or otherwise, the owner or the bareboat charterer
of a ship shall be responsible for all obligations contracted by the
master in relation to the ship, and shall be liable for any damages
caused by acts or omissions in the navigation or management of the
ship.
