Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 234), article 82

82. Wherever the tonnage of any ship has been ascertained and registered in accordance with the tonnage regulations of this Act, the same shall thenceforth be deemed to be the tonnage of the ship and shall be repeated in any subsequent registry thereof, unless any alteration is made in the form or capacity of the ship, or unless it is discovered that the tonnage of the ship has been erroneously computed, or unless the tonnage regulations of this Act are amended and make provision for the alteration of the particulars of the registered tonnage of any ship registered before the coming into operation of the amendment; and in any such case the ship shall be r e - m e a s u r e d a n d h e r t o n n a g e d et e r m i n e d an d r e - r e g i s t e r e d according to the tonnage regulations of this Act then in force.
