Banking Act (Cap. 371), article 17C
17C. All credit institutions shall have in place sound, effective
and complete strategies and processes to assess and maintain on an
on-going basis, the amounts, types and distribution of internal
capital that they consider adequate to cover the nature and lev el of
risks to which they are or might be exposed. These strategies a nd
processes shall be subject to regular internal review to ensure that
they remain comprehensive and proportionate to the nature, scal e
and complexity of the activities of the credit institution conc erned.
The competent authority shall issue a Banking Rule providing fo r,
inter alia the internal capital adequacy assessment process that has
to be maintained by credit institutions in relation to their ri sk
profile.
