263. The powers conferred and the duties imposed on the court
by this Act in respect of the following matters -

(a) the holding and conduct of meetings to ascertain the
wishes of creditors and contributories;
(b) the drawing up of lists of contributories and the
rectification of the register of members, if required,
and the collection and application of assets;
(c) the payment, delivery, conveyance, surrender or
transfer of money, prope rty, accounting records or
documents to the liquidator;
(d) the making of calls;
(e) the fixing of a time within which debts and claims
must be proved;
may, subject to the provisions of this article or any other pro vision
of this Act, be exercised or per formed by the liquidator, subje ct to
the control of the court:
Provided that the liquidator shall not, without the special
leave of the court, rectify the register of members and shall n ot
make any call without either the special leave of the court or the
sanction of the liquidation committee.
