Companies Act (Cap. 386), article 311
311. If any contributory of any company being wound up
destroys, mutilates, alters or fa lsifies any accounts, accounti ng
records, documents, books or secu rities, or makes or is party t o the
making of any false or fraudulent entry in any register, accoun ting
record or document belonging to the company with intent to
defraud or deceive any person, he shall be guilty of an offence and
shall be liable on conviction to a fine ( multa ) of not more than two
hundred and thirty-two thousand and nine hundred and thirty-sev en
euro (€232,937), or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fi ve
years, or to both such fine ( multa) and imprisonment.
