Employment and Industrial Relations Act (Cap. 452), article 77
77. (1) The Tribunal shall have such powers as are, by the
Code of Organization and Civil Procedure , vested in the Civil
Court, First Hall.
(2) Without prejudice to the foregoing provision of this articl e,
the Tribunal shall have the power to summon witnesses and to
administer the oath, to appoint assessors, and to require any p erson
who appears to it to have special knowledge of any relevant mat ter,
or of any of the matters to which the trade dispute or complain t
referred to it relates, or of th e matter referred to it, to fur nish in
writing or otherwise, and to confirm on oath, such opinion and such
particulars relating to that dispute, matter or complaint as th e
Tribunal may require, and may authorise any person to administe r
the oath for that purpose:
Provided such witness, assessor, expert or any other person,
as the case may be, shall be heard in evidence and shall be
examined in a Tribunal hearing a nd the parties to the case shal l
have the right to ask questions.

(3) Witnesses shall be pai d fees in accordance with the
Witnesses (Fees) Ordinance .
