27A. (1) The parties who choose mediation in an attempt to settle a dispute shall not subsequently be prevented from initi ating judicial proceedings or arbitratio n in relation to that dispute by the expiry of limitation or prescription periods during the mediati on process and the periods of limitation and prescription shall be suspended during the mediation process. (2) The provisions of subarticle (1) shall be without prejudice to provisions on limitation or prescription periods in internat ional agreements to which Malta and th e other Member State concerned may be party.
