Environment Protection Act (Cap. 549), article 72
72. (1) The Authority shall have the power to carry out
inspections and investigations o n any occasion and for any purp ose
related to the responsibilities pertaining to the Authority und er this
Act and subsidiary legislation made thereunder.
(2) In exercising the duties in sub-article (1), the Authority
shall be granted the right of entry as defined in article 71.
(3) In the event that non-compliance is proven, further action
under this Act and subsidiary leg islation made thereunder shall be
undertaken by the Authority as cons idered necessary.
2. Monitoring, Compliance Acti on and Enforcem ent of Control
Monitoring.73. (1) The Authority shall monito r any aspect and, or activity
falling within the scope of this Act, particularly for the purp oses of
environmental surveys, audits a nd assessments and of ensuring
compliance with the requireme nts of this Act and with the
decisions lawfully taken under this Act.
(2) For this purpose, the Authority may appoint officers to,
amongst other matters, collect data, survey, surveil and, or mo nitor
any activity, aspect or author isation for the purposes of
environmental surveys and audits and of compliance with
