118. (1) Any member of the House of Representatives who requests, receives or accepts, fo r himself or for any other per son, any reward or promise or offer o f any reward in money or other valuable consideration or of any other advantage given or made with the object of influencing him in his conduct as a member o f the House shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term from one year to eight years. (2) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code or of any other law the provisions of Title VI of Part III of Book Second of this Code shall not apply to an offence under this article in r espect of the said Member of the House of Representatives or any accomplice.
