120. (1) In the cases referred to in articles 115, 116, 117 and 118, the person who bribes the public officer or servant or the member of the House of Representatives, or the person to whom any of the said articles applies in accordance with any provisi on under this Code or under any other law, as the case may be, sha ll be deemed to be an accomplice. (2) Where the public officer or servant or other person does not commit the crime, the person who attempts to induce such office r or servant or other person to commit the crime shall, on convic tion, be liable to imprisonment for a term from six months to three y ears: Pr ovided that when the crime is tha t ref err ed to in article 117( c), the punishment shall not exceed eighteen months imprisonment. ( 3 ) W h e r e t h e m e m b e r o f t h e H o u s e o f R e p r e s e n t a t i v e s d o e s not commit the crime, the person who attempts to induce such member to commit the crime shal l, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term from six months to four years. 68 CAP. 9.] CRIMINAL CODE Embracery and corruption of other persons.
