Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 124

124. Any public officer or servant who shall overtly or covertly or through another person take any private interest in any adjudication, contract, or administration, whether he holds who lly or in part the direction or superintendence thereof, or held su ch direction or superintendence at the time when such adjudication , contract, or administration comm enced, shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term from one to six months and to perpetual interdiction from his public office or employment.
