183. Any other person who shall commit forgery of any authentic and public instrument or of any commercial document o r private bank document, by counterfeiting or altering the writin g or signature, by feigning any fictitious agreement, disposition, obligation or discharge, or by the insertion of any such agreem ent, disposition, obligation or discharge in any of the said instrum ents or documents after the formation thereof, or by any addition to or alteration of any clause, declar ation or fact which such instru ments or documents were intended to contain or prove, shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term from thirteen months to four years, with or without solitary confinement.
