196. Any: (a) spouse; (b) civil union partner; or (c) cohabitant in a registered or unilaterally declared cohabitation according to the Cohabitation Act , or a registered cohabitation by means of a public deed in accordance to the Cohabitation Act, 2020 , who, during the subsistence of a valid and lawful marriage, civ il union or cohabitation, contracts another marriage, civil union or cohabitation, shall, on convicti on, be liable to imprisonment f or a term from thirteen (13) months to four (4) years.
