Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 355L
355L. (1) The Police have the power to enter and search any
premises, house, building or enclosure used, occupied or
controlled, even temporarily, by a person who is under arrest, if
they have reasonable grounds for suspecting that there is evide nce,
other than items subject to lega l privilege, that relates to th e
offence or a connected offence, a nd such search shall be limite d to
the extent that is reasonably necessary for discovering such
evidence:
Provided that if offences other than the offence or offences
for which the person was arrested are discovered in the course of
the search then the search may e xtend to the extent required fo r the
purposes of such other offences.
(2) Without prejudice to the provisions of Sub-title V , the
Police may in the course of a s earch carried out in pursuance o f the
provisions of sub-article (1) seize and retain anything not sub ject to
legal privilege and which constit utes relevant evidence for the
purpose of any offence mentione d in the same sub-article.
