Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 439
439. Causes shall be tried in rota tion, according to the date of
the filing of the indictment:
Provided that it shall be lawful for the court, if it sees good
reason for so doing, to postpone the trial of a cause which is next in
rotation, and proceed t o try another cause.
