Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 562
562. If the expert is unable to give his opinion on the spot, or if
the matter requires some chemical experiment or other scientifi c
process, he shall be allowed a sh ort time for preparing his sta tement
or report, care being always taken to secure the proof of the i dentity
of the things.
