642. (1) Advocates and legal procurators may not be compelled to depose with regard to circumstances knowledge whereof is derived from the prof essional confidence which the parties themselves shall have placed in their a ssistance or adv ice. (2) The same rule shall apply in regard to those persons who are by law bound to secrecy respecting circumstances on which evidence is required. Incriminating questions. Amended by: XII.1913.25.
