114. ( 1 ) T h e o w n e r o r t h e t e n a n t o f a h o u s e a n d , o r t h e Administrator of a Condominium shall, within thirty calendar da ys of a notice issued by the Electoral O ffice, mark in a visible place each external door, either with the number provided to them or in an y other form of their own choice, the next consecutive number to such door, and 22 CAP. 10.] CODE OF POLICE LAWS in the case where doors are adde d between doors which have alre ady been given a number, there shall be added to every repeated num ber, a letter of the alphabet, in alphabetical order, starting from th e first letter. The numbers previously assigned shall be removed under such ter ms and conditions as may b e prescribed by the Electoral Office in such notice. (2) It shall be unlawful to def ace or destroy the number or letter of any door. (3) In the case where the owner or the tenant of a house and, or the Administrator of a Condominium fail to comply with the provisions of sub-article (1), the Electoral Office shall have the right to affix the assigned numbers in the presence of a Police officer. (4) Any owner or tenant of a house and, or the Administrator of a Condominium who fails to comply with the provisions of sub - articles (1) and (2), shall be in breach of the law and liable, when found guilty, to a fine of twenty-five euro (€25). (5) In the case it is decided that numbers are allocated to properties on a private road, suc h road shall remain a private road. Street naming and alteration of number of street doors.
