496. It shall also be lawful for the said court to grant to any person in possession of property of any value whatsoever, subje ct to any dividual or individual entail, authorization to give suc h property on lease for any period exceeding eight years, in the case of rural property, or four years, in the case of urban property , if it is shown to the satisfaction of the court that such lease would be for the benefit of the per sons entitled to succeed: Provided that the court may not grant any such authorization fo r a period exceeding twelve years, in the case of rural property, or eight years, in the cas e of urban property.
