968. (1) Subject to the provision of sub-article (2), any cause concerning any matter in dispute which has been brought before a court of civil jurisdiction in Malta may be submitted at the re quest of all the parties for determin ation by arbitration, under the provisions of the Arbitration Act , and the provisions of the aforesaid Act shall apply thereto. (2) Any submission to arbitration in regard to any dispute concerning questions of personal status including those relatin g to separation, divorce or annulment of a marriage between spouses, or in regard to things or rights which may not form the subject-ma tter of a contract, whether absolutely or without certain formalitie s required by law, is null.
