27. (1) The obligation of any person to supply maintenance to another shall cease if the person in whose favour such obligati on is established, shall contract marriage, notwithstanding the oppos ition of the person liable as aforesai d, provided such opposition be made on good grounds, and the demand from the release from such obligation be made by the person objecting within the time of six months following the celebration of the marriage. (2) Such opposition shall only be operative if it is made by means of a judicial act to be served on each of the parties int ending to contract the marriage, and fil ed in the registry of the civi l court, in the island in which the person objecting, or either of the s aid parties, resides.
