559. (1) It shall, nevertheless, b e lawful for any person who has lost a thing, or has been robbed thereof, to recover it on indemnifying the possessor. (2) Such person may even recover the thing without any obligation to indemnify the possessor if the latter has not obt ained the thing in good faith, under an onerous title, from a party w ho was presumably the owner thereof or a person charged by the owner to dispose of it.
