11. A person shall not be entitled to be registered as owner of a ship or of a share therein until he, or in the case of a body c orporate the person authorised by this Act to make declarations on behal f of the body corporate, has made and signed a declarat ion of owners hip referring to the ship as describ ed in the application referred to in article 10 and containing the following particulars: 10 CAP. 234.] MERCHANT SHIPPING (a) a statement of his qualification to own a Maltese ship or, in the case of a body corporate, of such circumstances as prove it to be qualified to own a Maltese ship; (b) a statement of the time and place where the ship was built or if these are not known, a statement that the declarant does not know the time and place of her building; (c) a statement of the extent to which he or the body corporate, as the case ma y be, is entitled to be registered as owner; (d) a declaration that to the best of his knowledge and belief no unqualified person or body of persons is entitled as owner to any interest in the ship or any share therein; and (e) a declaration as to what registered encumbrances, if any, exist on the ship.
