Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 234), article 180
180. Any question concerning the f orfeiture of or deductions
from the wages of a seaman or ap prentice may be determined in
any proceeding lawfully institute d with respect to those wages,
notwithstanding that the offence in respect of which the questi on
arises, though by this Act made punishable by imprisonment as
well as forfeiture, has not been made the subject of criminal
proceedings.
