181. If a seaman contracts for wa ges by the voyage or by the run or by the share, and not by the month or other stated perio d of time, the amount of forfeiture t o be incurred under this Act sh all be an amount bearing the same proportion to the whole wages or sha re as a month or any other period hereinbefore mentioned in fixing the amount of such forfeiture (as the case may be) bears to the who le time spent in the voyage or run; and if the whole time spent in the voyage or run does not exceed the p eriod for which the pay is t o be forfeited, the forfeiture shall extend to the whole wages or sh are. Penalty for enticing to desert and harbouring deserters.  Amended by:  XIII. 1983.5; XXII. 2000.2.
