72. (1) The flag as set out in the Third Schedule to this Act, without any defacement or modification whatsoever, is hereby declared to be the proper national colours for all Maltese ship s. (2) If any distinctive national co lours, except the Maltese flag , are hoisted on board any Maltese ship, the master of the ship, or the owner thereof if on board the same, and every other person hois ting the colours, shall, for each offence, be liable to a fine ( multa) not exceeding five hundred units. Penalty on ship not showing colours.  Amended by:  XIII.1983.5; XXII. 2000.2.
