41. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Act, a widow who on the 1st day of June, 1979, was in receipt of a Widow’s Pension or a Widow’s Benefit or a Widow’s Allowance or a Widow’s Special Allowance in a ccordance with the provisions of the National Insurance Act, as in force on that date, shall rem ain entitled under this Act to such pension, benefit or allowance a s the case may be, for so long as she would have remained so entitled had those provisions remained operative after the date aforesaid unless with effect from the 5th January 1991 the foregoing provisions of this Part entitle her to a better rate of pension .
