Social Security Act (Cap. 318), article 76A
76A. Subject to the provisions of this Act it shall be the right of
every child who is certified by a competent authority, either a s a
fostered child, or is certified a s being under care in an insti tution,
to have an allowance paid out in his respect to the head of hou sehold
who is an approved foster carer in accordance with the Foster Care
Act or the head of the institution, as the case may be, at the rate s
specified in Part VIII of the Fou rteenth Schedule to this Act. When
an allowance under this article is due, no allowance under arti cle 76
shall be payable:

Provided that subject to the provisions of this Act, and with
effect from 1st January 2023, it shall be the right of every ch ild who is
certified by a competent authority as a fostered child, to have an
allowance paid in his respect to the head of household who is a n
approved foster carer in accordance with the Minor Protection
(Alternative Care) Act , even when said child is not a fostered child
anymore because he is adopted by that same head of household, a t the
rates specified in Part VIII of t he Fourteenth Schedule to this Act.
