Social Security Act (Cap. 318), article 91
91. A person shall be disqualifie d from receiving a pension,
benefit, allowance or assistanc e payable under this Act for any
period during which he/she is undergoing imprisonment or
detention in pursuance of a sentence passed on conviction from an
offence:
Provided that where such person would have been in receipt
of the allowances payable under articles 76, 76A and 79, such
allowances shall, during any such period, be paid to the head o f
household with whom the child or person, in respect of whom suc h
allowance is being paid, is living:
Provided further that where such person is a married person
who would have been entitled to a pension under this Act, and w ho,
immediately prior to being senten ced as above, was not having t he
provisions of article 96 applied to him/her, his/her spouse sha ll be
entitled to receive five-sixths of the pension which would have
been payable to his/her spouse had he/she not been disqualified
under the provisions of this article, provided he/she is not al ready
entitled to a pension under this Act in his/her own right, or h alf the
pension which would have been payable to his/her spouse had he/

she not been disqualified under the provisions of this article,
provided he/she is already entitled to a pension under this Act in
his/her own right.
