17D. The competent authority may refer to ESMA, situations where a request relating to one of the following has been rejected or has not been acted upon within a reasonable time: (a) to exchange information as provided for in article 17; (b) to carry out a supervisory activity, an on-site verification or an investigation, as provided for in article 17A; and (c) to seek authorisation for its officials to accompany those of the European regulatory authority as provided for in article 17A.
